Oscar Harari, PhD
- Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Dr. Harari is a bioinformatician with expertise in artificial intelligence and neurodegeneration. He pursued his PhD by researching the development and application of machine learning approaches to mine genetic networks. During his postdoctoral studies he entered the field of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) genetics.
His current work is based on the application of machine learning and traditional statistical approaches to the discovery of novel -omic (proteomic, transcriptomic, and genomic) factors associated with AD. He applies these tooled to both the identification of novel genetic variants and CSF biomarkers for AD, the formulation of complex hypotheses to uncover the interplay of factors (i.e. pQTL, pleiotropy effects, and network and pathway analysis), and joint analysis of transcriptomic and genetic data. Dr. Harari has robust experience mining and analyzing proteomic and genomic data (Harari et al., Biol Psychiatry 2014, Kauwe et al. PLoS Gen 2014, Cruchaga et al. Neuron 2013).
